Students, Instructors, Veterans: JAMES VILLNAVE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

The Northrop Rice Foundation is pleased to administer the James Villnave Memorial Scholarships sponsored by the James Villnave Charitable Trust.

Mr. Villnave was a well-known aviation maintenance figure in the Kansas City area and he was the owner of the Villnave Airport in Belton, MO.

Applications for these scholarships may be made by students and instructors of FAA Approved PART 147 schools and honorably discharged veterans who are preparing to take the Federal Aviation Administration written examination for certification as Aviation Maintenance Technicians (A&P).

The scholarships may be applied toward tuition, upgrade training, books, or tool depending on the category of assistance requested. The maximum amount of the scholarships is $1,000.00 per year.

The deadline date for submission of student and instructor applications is March 1 of each year. Veteran applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

James Villnave Memorial Scholarship General Information (for Printing)

Instructors: Boeing 300/550 or 700 series training

Scholarship through Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines is donating one scholarship per year for one instructor of an ATEC member school. The scholarship provides for attendance in either a two week Systems or one week Avionics course on the Boeing 300/550 or 700 Series airplanes. This training scholarship will be awarded to an instructor selected by the Board of the Northrop Rice Foundation.

Scholarship through FlightSafety International
FlightSafety International is donating one scholarship per year for one instructor of an ATEC member school to attend the FSI�s King Air Maintenance Course. The scholarship is valued at $7200.00 and will be awarded to an instructor selected by the Board of the Northrop Rice Foundation.

NIDA CORPORATION TRAINING EQUIPMENT AWARD
The The NIDA Corporation is donating an Aviation Maintenance Training System to be awarded to an ATEC member school. The Training System includes a Model 130E Test console, a Model 1438A Aviation maintenance Technology Experiment Card Set, a Scores Pro Learning System and a Client Access License. This system is valued at $8389.00.

The Northrop Rice Foundation Instructor Assistance Program provides funds to assist instructors with travel and per diem expenses when attending 2 or 3 day upgrade training programs.
